Timothy Spall is an English actor and presenter known for his character actor roles on stage and screen. He has collaborated with director Mike Leigh in six films, including 'Secrets & Lies' and 'Mr. Turner'. Spall received a BAFTA nomination for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his performance in 'Secrets & Lies', and won the Cannes Film Festival Best Actor Award for his portrayal of J. M. W. Turner in 'Mr. Turner'. He has also appeared in films such as 'Hamlet', 'The Last Samurai', 'Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street', and 'The King's Speech'. In 2000, Spall was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) by Queen Elizabeth II.
