Tobe Nwigwe Biography
Tobe Nwigwe, born Tobechukwu Dubem Nwigwe on March 8, 1987, is an American rapper, singer, and actor. He gained recognition for his appearance in the Netflix television series Mo, where he co-stars. In 2022, Nwigwe received a nomination for Best New Artist at the 65th Grammy Awards. Raised in the Alief neighborhood of Houston, Texas, Nwigwe is of Nigerian descent and belongs to the Igbo ethnic group. He started his career as a football player, playing in high school and college at the University of North Texas. However, an injury prevented him from pursuing a professional football career. Nwigwe then founded the nonprofit organization TeamGINI, which aims to help families in need achieve financial literacy and independence.
