Tobias Menzies is an English stage, television, and film actor. He gained recognition for his portrayal of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, in the third and fourth seasons of Netflix's series The Crown. For this role, Menzies won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series and received Golden Globe and British Academy Television Award nominations. He also played Frank and Jonathan 'Black Jack' Randall in Starz's Outlander, earning a Golden Globe Award nomination. Menzies is known for his roles as Brutus in HBO's Rome and Edmure Tully in HBO's Game of Thrones. He was born in Hammersmith, London on March 7, 1974, to Peter Menzies and Gillian Simpson.
