Tom Aldredge

Tom Aldredge (1928-2011) was an American television, film and stage actor known for his versatile performances. He achieved success in all three mediums throughout his career spanning five decades. Aldredge received critical acclaim for his portrayal of Shakespeare in the TV movie 'Henry Winkler Meets William Shakespeare,' which earned him a Daytime Emmy Award. On Broadway, he garnered five Tony Award nominations and originated the roles of the Narrator and the Mysterious Man in the original cast of 'Into the Woods.' Aldredge made notable appearances on television shows like 'Ryan's Hope,' 'Damages,' and 'Boardwalk Empire,' and portrayed Hugh De Angelis on 'The Sopranos.' Born in Dayton, Ohio, Aldredge initially pursued a law career but became inspired to act after seeing a performance of 'A Streetcar Named Desire.'
