Tom Selleck, born on January 29, 1945, is an American actor known for his roles in both television and film. He gained recognition for his portrayal of the private investigator Thomas Magnum in the popular television series Magnum, P.I. which aired from 1980 to 1988. Selleck received five Emmy Award nominations for his outstanding performance in the series, winning in 1985. Since 2010, he has co-starred as New York City Police Commissioner Frank Reagan in the long-running series Blue Bloods. Additionally, Selleck has portrayed troubled small-town police chief Jesse Stone in nine television films based on the Robert B. Parker novels. He has also appeared in numerous films such as Three Men and a Baby, Quigley Down Under, and Mr. Baseball.
