Tom Towles (March 20, 1950 – April 2, 2015) was an American character actor known for his roles as villains and intimidating supporting characters. He gained recognition for his breakthrough role as Otis in Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer (1986), which earned him an Independent Spirit Award nomination. Throughout his career, Towles appeared in a variety of films and television series, including Night of the Living Dead, Blood In Blood Out, The Rock, NYPD Blue, Dr. Dolittle, The Devil's Rejects, Miami Vice, and Malcolm in the Middle. Towles was born in Chicago, Illinois and briefly served in the United States Marine Corps. He began his acting career with the Organic Theater Company in Chicago before making his film debut in Dog Day Afternoon (1975).
