Sir Anthony Charles Lynton Blair, born on May 6, 1953, is a British politician and former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. He served as the Prime Minister from 1997 to 2007 and was the Leader of the Labour Party from 1994 to 2007. Blair also held various shadow cabinet posts and served as the Leader of the Opposition from 1994 to 1997. He represented the Sedgefield constituency from 1983 to 2007. Blair attended Fettes College and studied law at St John's College, Oxford. He became a barrister and was elected to the House of Commons in 1983. Blair is the second-longest-serving prime minister in post-war British history.
