Tony Cummings is a journalist and the founding editor of the magazine Cross Rhythms. His career began in 1963 when he started a black music fanzine called Soul, which eventually evolved into Soul Music Monthly and then Shout. He wrote for various publications, including Record Mirror and Black Music magazine, where he interviewed notable artists like Stevie Wonder, Earth, Wind & Fire, and Michael Jackson. In 1980, Cummings converted to Christianity and started writing for the Christian magazine Buzz. He later became the assistant editor of Buzz and interviewed prominent figures like Rev. Ian Paisley and Cliff Richard. As the editor of Cross Rhythms, Cummings has conducted interviews with numerous artists and mentored musicians like Daniel Bedingfield and Natasha Bedingfield.
