Anthony Frank Hawk, born on May 12, 1968, is an American retired professional skateboarder and entrepreneur. Known by his nickname 'Birdman,' Hawk was a pioneer of modern vertical skateboarding and accomplished the first documented '900' skateboarding trick in 1999. He is also the owner of Birdhouse, a prominent skateboard company. Hawk's influence extends beyond his skateboarding career, as he licensed a successful video game series named after him. In addition, he is recognized for his philanthropic endeavors and founded The Skatepark Project (formerly Tony Hawk Foundation), which constructs skateparks in underserved areas globally. Born and raised in San Diego, California, Hawk is regarded as one of the most influential skateboarders in history.
