Tony Osoba Biography
Tony Osoba (born 15 March 1947) is a Scottish actor known for his role as Jim 'Jock' McLaren in the 1970s British sitcom Porridge alongside Ronnie Barker. He was the first mixed-race Scottish actor to appear on primetime television. Osoba has also guest starred in the spin-off Going Straight and made two appearances in Coronation Street. He portrayed Wesley McGregor in 1982 and later played Peter Ingram, Mike Baldwin's boss, in a few episodes in 1990. In addition, Osoba starred as Chas Jarvis in Dempsey and Makepeace. Born in Maryhill, Glasgow, Osoba trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and was a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company.
