Tony Plana

Tony Plana, born José Antonio Plana on April 19, 1952, is a Cuban-American actor and director. He gained recognition for his portrayal of Ignacio Suarez, Betty Suarez's father, on the popular ABC television show Ugly Betty. Plana also voiced Manuel 'Manny' Calavera in the acclaimed video game Grim Fandango. Born in Havana, Cuba, Plana's family relocated to Miami in 1960. He studied at Loyola Marymount University and received training in acting from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. In addition to his work in film and television, Plana is renowned for his skills in acting and directing for the stage, particularly his Shakespeare productions for minority audiences.
