Tony Pope Biography
Tony Pope (March 22, 1947 – February 11, 2004) was an American voice actor best known for his work as the voice of Goofy for eleven years. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Pope moved to Los Angeles in 1973 to pursue his career in voice acting. He provided the voice of Furby in English and multiple other languages and also worked on the first two DVDs of LeapFrog, voicing Mr. Websley and Professor Quigley. Pope's voice can be heard on various attractions at Disneyland and in the JumpStart products by Knowledge Adventure. He was married to actress Patricia Lentz and they had three children. Tony Pope passed away on February 11, 2004, due to complications of leg surgery.
