Tony Tost (born 1975) is an American film director, poet, critic, and screenwriter. He gained recognition for his poetry book Invisible Bride, which won the 2003 Walt Whitman Award. Tost is known for his work in the television industry as the creator, executive producer, and showrunner of Damnation, a neo-western period drama that depicts the labor wars in America during the 1930s. The show aired on USA Network and Netflix. Tost is also the writer-director of Americana, a forthcoming rural crime drama from Bron Studios. Born in Springfield, Missouri, Tost grew up in Enumclaw, Washington, and worked various jobs before pursuing a career in writing. He is a graduate of Green River Community College and the University of Arkansas.
