He immigrated to the United States at the age of four with his parents, who settled in Champaign, Illinois. Xu holds degrees from the University of California, Berkeley and Stanford University's Graduate School of Business. With a background that includes internships at Square, Inc. and work experience at McKinsey & Company, eBay, and PayPal, Xu co-founded DoorDash.
