Tove Lo, born Ebba Tove Elsa Nilsson on October 29, 1987, is a Swedish singer and songwriter. Known for her raw, grunge-influenced take on pop music, she has been hailed as 'Sweden's darkest pop export' by Rolling Stone. Raised in the Djursholm district of Danderyd, Lo attended the music school Rytmus Musikergymnasiet and formed the rock band Tremblebee in 2006. After pursuing a career in songwriting, she signed a publishing deal with Warner/Chappell Music in 2011. With the help of producers Alexander Kronlund, Max Martin, and Xenomania, Lo gained success as a songwriter and later signed with Universal Music, Island, and Polydor. Her debut album, 'Queen of the Clouds,' reached number 14 on the U.S. Billboard charts in 2014.
