Travon Free

Travon Free (born 1985) is an American comedian, actor, and writer. He has written for popular shows like Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, The Daily Show, and Any Given Wednesday with Bill Simmons. Free is an Emmy Award winner for his work on The Daily Show and also won an Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film for Two Distant Strangers. Growing up in Compton, California, Free attended Dominguez High School where he was recognized as the team's best basketball player. He later attended California State University, Long Beach, where he played college basketball for the Long Beach State 49ers. Free's career in comedy began while recovering from a knee injury, when he entertained his college basketball team with his humor. Since then, he has performed at comedy clubs like Laugh Factory and The Ice House Club.
