Michael Trent Reznor (born May 17, 1965) is an American musician, singer, songwriter, record producer, and composer. He is best known as the lead vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and principal songwriter of the industrial rock band Nine Inch Nails, which he founded in 1988. Reznor achieved commercial and critical success with the release of Nine Inch Nails' debut album, Pretty Hate Machine (1989). Over the years, he has released 11 more studio albums with Nine Inch Nails. Reznor has also collaborated with various artists, including Marilyn Manson, Saul Williams, and Halsey. In 2009, he formed the post-industrial group How to Destroy Angels. Reznor has expanded his career into film and television scoring, working alongside Atticus Ross since 2010.
