Trevor Bannister

Trevor Gordon Bannister (14 August 1934 – 14 April 2011) was a British actor known for his roles in popular sitcoms. He played the womanising and wisecracking junior salesman Mr. Lucas in the sitcom Are You Being Served? from 1972 to 1979. Bannister also appeared as Toby Mulberry Smith in the long-running sitcom Last of the Summer Wine from 2003 to 2010. Prior to his television success, he appeared on stage in productions such as Billy Liar in 1960. Bannister also starred in the 1968 television series The War of Darkie Pilbeam and the sitcom The Dustbinmen from 1969 to 1970. His portrayal of Mr. Lucas in Are You Being Served? earned him top billing for the first four series.
