Troy Gentile, born Troy Francis Farshi on October 27, 1993, is an American actor known for his roles in movies and TV shows. He gained recognition for playing Mark in the film Hotel for Dogs and as Barry Goldberg in the comedy series The Goldbergs (2013–2023). Gentile also portrayed young versions of Jack Black's characters in Nacho Libre and Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny (both 2006). Born in Boca Raton, Florida, to an Italian-American mother and an Iranian father, Gentile attended community college before landing his role on The Goldbergs. He has also appeared in films such as Bad News Bears, Good Luck Chuck, Drillbit Taylor, and TV shows like The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson.
