Twiggy

Dame Lesley Lawson, widely known as Twiggy, is an English model, actress, and singer. Born on September 19, 1949, she became a prominent teenage model during the swinging '60s in London. Twiggy gained iconic status for her thin build, androgynous appearance with big eyes, long eyelashes, and short hair. She was named 'The Face of 1966' and voted British Woman of the Year. Twiggy's modeling career took her to France, Japan, and the US, gracing the covers of Vogue and The Tatler. She transitioned to acting, earning two Golden Globe Awards for her role in The Boy Friend (1971). She also had success on Broadway and hosted her own series, Twiggy's People, where she interviewed various celebrities.
