Veena Sood is a Canadian actress known for her work in dramatic and comedic roles. Born on November 21, she was raised in Nairobi, Kenya, before immigrating to Canada with her family at the age of 7. Sood graduated from high school at 16 and later obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University. She co-founded Calgary's 'Loose Moose Theatre Company' and also worked with the Vancouver TheatreSports League. In 1991, Sood won the Jessie Award for Outstanding Performance. She comes from a family of artists, with her brother, Manoj Sood, being an actor, and her cousin, Ashwin Sood, being a musician. Sood married J. Johnson on August 30, 2008.
