Vella Lovell (born September 13, 1985) is an American actress of African-American, Jewish, and European descent. She is best known for her role as Heather Davis in The CW comedy-drama series Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. Lovell has also provided the voice of Mermista in She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. She has appeared in films such as The Big Sick and The Christmas Chronicles. Lovell attended Interlochen Arts Camp and graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy, followed by New York University and the Juilliard School. Prior to her breakthrough, she had minor roles in TV series Girls and Younger. In 2021, Lovell portrayed Mikaela in the NBC series Mr. Mayor, created by Tina Fey and Robert Carlock.
