    Vince Gilligan is an American screenwriter, producer, and director. He is best known for his work in television, particularly as the creator, head writer, executive producer, and director of the critically acclaimed series Breaking Bad (2008–2013) and its spin-off Better Call Saul (2015–2022). Gilligan also worked as a writer and producer for The X-Files (1993–2002; 2016–2018) and co-created the spin-off series The Lone Gunmen (2001). He has received numerous awards for his work, including four Primetime Emmy Awards, six Writers Guild of America Awards, and a BAFTA Television Award. In addition to television, Gilligan co-wrote the screenplay for the film Hancock (2008) and wrote, produced, and directed the Breaking Bad sequel film, El Camino (2019).
