She is known for being one of the few performers to have achieved the prestigious EGOT status, winning an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony award. Davis holds the distinction of being the sole African-American to accomplish the Triple Crown of Acting and is the third person overall to achieve both statuses.
