Vivian Vance

Vivian Vance (1909-1979) was an American actress known for her role as Ethel Mertz on the sitcom I Love Lucy (1951-1957), for which she won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress. She also starred alongside Lucille Ball in The Lucy Show from 1962 to 1965. Born as Vivian Roberta Jones in Cherryvale, Kansas, she began her acting studies in high school. Vance's comedic chemistry with Lucy made her a beloved comedic foil. In 1991, she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Vivian Vance is remembered as an iconic television personality who left a lasting impact on the world of comedy.
