Wagner Moura

Wagner Moura is a Brazilian actor, director, and filmmaker. Born on June 27, 1976, he started his career in theater in Salvador and later appeared in several films. In 2003, Moura gained recognition for his leading roles in movies and his prominent role in Carandiru. He continued to star in national feature films, including the successful Elite Squad and Elite Squad 2, where he portrayed the famous character Captain Nascimento. These films received international acclaim and boosted Moura's recognition. In 2007, he impressed audiences and critics with his performance as an antagonist in the telenovela Paraíso Tropical. Moura made his international debut in the 2013 science fiction film Elysium, starring alongside Matt Damon and Jodie Foster.
