Wale Biography
Wale, born Olubowale Victor Akintimehin on September 21, 1984, is an American rapper and singer. He gained recognition in 2006 with his song 'Dig Dug (Shake It)', which became popular in his hometown of Washington D.C. Wale signed with Mark Ronson's label Allido Records in 2007, releasing mixtapes that garnered national attention. In 2008, he signed with Interscope Records for US$1.3 million and released his debut studio album 'Attention Deficit' in 2009. Although commercially underperforming, the album was well-received. Wale has collaborated with various artists, and his music has appeared on MTV and in Black America-focused magazines.
