Walter Bobbie (born November 18, 1945) is an American theatre director, choreographer, and occasional actor and dancer. He is best known for his work on Broadway and Off-Broadway, directing both musicals and plays. Bobbie served as the Artistic Director of the New York City Center Encores! concert series and directed the successful revival of the musical Chicago. In addition to his directing career, Bobbie has also showcased his talent as an actor, notably portraying Nicely-Nicely Johnson in Guys and Dolls. Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Bobbie attended the University of Scranton and The Catholic University of America for graduate studies. His passion for theater was ignited after watching the Broadway production of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.
