Walter Isaacson (born May 20, 1952) is an American author, journalist, and professor. He has held various prominent positions including President and CEO of the Aspen Institute, chair and CEO of CNN, and editor of Time. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, he attended Harvard University and Pembroke College, Oxford as a Rhodes scholar. Isaacson is known for his biographies, including works on Benjamin Franklin, Albert Einstein, Steve Jobs, Leonardo da Vinci, and most recently Jennifer Doudna and Elon Musk. He is also a professor at Tulane University and an advisory partner at Perella Weinberg Partners.
