Carson Wayne Newton, born on April 3, 1942, is an American singer and actor. Known as one of the most popular entertainers in Las Vegas, Newton has been performing in the city since 1963. He has earned nicknames like 'The Midnight Idol', 'Mr. Las Vegas', and 'Mr. Entertainment'. Newton began his career as a teenager, performing in Las Vegas in the late 1950s. He was mentored by legendary artists such as Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin, and Elvis Presley. In 1963, he became a headliner at the Flamingo, a casino hotel in Las Vegas, and quickly rose to fame. Newton is considered America's number one nightclub act and has been more prominent in Las Vegas than Sinatra and Presley. He holds the record as the highest-grossing entertainer in Las Vegas history. Additionally, Newton has appeared in numerous movies and television shows throughout his career.
