Wayne Tippit Biography
Wayne Tippit (December 19, 1932 – August 28, 2009) was an American television and stage character actor. He is best known for his role as Ted Adamson on the CBS soap opera Search for Tomorrow for five years. Tippit also portrayed Palmer Woodward, the father of Heather Locklear's character on the Fox primetime soap opera Melrose Place. Born in Lubbock, Texas, Tippit attended Texas Tech University and later transferred to the University of Iowa, where he obtained his bachelor's degree in fine arts. After serving in the United States Army, Tippit moved to New York City to pursue a career in stage and theater. He appeared in small parts on Broadway in the late 1950s.
