Wendy Craig

Wendy Craig, born Anne Gwendolyn Craig on 20 June 1934 in Sacriston, County Durham, is an English actress best known for her roles in sitcoms such as Not in Front of the Children, ...And Mother Makes Three, ...And Mother Makes Five, and Butterflies. She also played the role of Matron in the TV series The Royal from 2003 to 2011. Craig attended Durham High School for Girls and later trained as an actress at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London. Her career began in 1956 when she appeared in the West End production of John Dighton's farce Man. Throughout her career, Craig has made numerous notable contributions to the entertainment industry.
