Wendy Hughes Biography
Wendy Hughes (29 July 1952 – 8 March 2014) was an Australian actress known for her work in theatre, film, and television. Born in Melbourne, Australia, she originally trained as a ballerina but shifted her focus to acting and graduated from the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA). Hughes had a career that spanned over forty years, establishing her as one of Australia's finest and most prolific actors. She appeared in a variety of films and TV shows, including Happy New Year alongside Peter Falk and Charles Durning, as well as Homicide: Life on the Street, where she played Dr. Carol Blythe, M.E. In the late 1990s, she starred in State Coroner and Paradise Road.
