Will Champion

William Champion, born on July 31, 1978, is an English musician and songwriter known as the drummer and backing vocalist of the rock band Coldplay. Raised in Southampton, he developed his musical skills from a young age and drew inspiration from artists like Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Nick Cave, and traditional Irish folk. Champion's dynamic drumming style prioritizes the essential elements of a song, and he occasionally takes on lead vocal duties in live performances. He holds a 2:1 degree in anthropology from University College London, where he formed Coldplay with Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, and Guy Berryman. With Coldplay, Champion has achieved global fame, selling over 100 million albums worldwide and winning seven Grammy Awards and nine Brit Awards.
