William Frawley
William Frawley (1887-1966) was an American vaudevillian and actor known for his roles in film and television. He is best remembered for his portrayal of landlord Fred Mertz in the sitcom 'I Love Lucy' and 'Bub' O'Casey in the comedy series 'My Three Sons' from 1960-65. Frawley began his career in vaudeville with his wife, Edna Louise Broedt, and later signed with Paramount Studios in 1916, appearing in over 100 films. He also had multiple Broadway performances. Born in Burlington, Iowa, Frawley attended Catholic schools and began acting in local theater productions. His contributions to the entertainment industry continue to be celebrated.
