William Russ
William Russ (born October 20, 1950) is an American actor and television director. He is best known for his role as Alan Matthews on the sitcom Boy Meets World (1993–2000). Russ began his acting career on the New York stage before transitioning to television and film. In addition to Boy Meets World, he appeared in the television series Wiseguy, Another World, The Young and the Restless, and films such as The Right Stuff (1983), Pastime (1990), and American History X (1998). Throughout the 1980s, Russ took on supporting roles in various television shows and movies including Crisis at Central High (1981), St. Elsewhere (1986), and Crime Story (1986). He also made a guest appearance on Miami Vice in 1985.
