Win Butler Biography
Win Butler is an American-Canadian singer, songwriter, musician, and multi-instrumentalist. He is known for co-founding the indie rock band Arcade Fire, along with Josh Deu and his wife Régine Chassagne. Born on April 14, 1980, in Truckee, California, Butler was raised in The Woodlands, Texas, with a Mormon upbringing. Before his brother's birth, he lived in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Butler's father worked as a geologist for oil conglomerate Halliburton, while his mother, Liza Rey, performed on the family TV show and played jazz harp. His maternal grandfather was jazz steel guitarist Alvino Rey, and his maternal grandmother, Luise, was a member of The King Sisters.
