Wintley Phipps
Wintley Augustus Phipps, Sr. (born January 7, 1955) is a Trinidadian-American singer, songwriter, record producer, minister, and founder of the U.S. Dream Academy, Songs of Freedom Publishing Company, and Coral Records Recording Company. With his booming bass-baritone voice, Phipps is known for his inspirational gospel music. He was born in Trinidad and Tobago and later moved to Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Phipps attended Kingsway College and Oakwood College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology. He also obtained a Master of Divinity degree from Andrews University. Phipps served as a senior pastor in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, including the Capitol Hill.
