Wolf Blitzer is an American journalist, television news anchor, and author. He has been a CNN reporter since 1990 and currently serves as one of the principal anchors at the network. Blitzer is best known as the host of The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer, a position he has held since 2005. Prior to that, he served as the network's lead political anchor until 2021. Born in Augsburg, Bavaria, Germany in 1948, Blitzer's parents were Polish Jewish refugees who survived the Auschwitz concentration camp. Blitzer and his family immigrated to the United States under the provisions of the Displaced Persons Act. With decades of experience in journalism, Blitzer has become a prominent figure in the news industry.
