Wolfgang Johannes Puck is an Austrian-American chef and restaurateur. Born on July 8, 1949, in Sankt Veit an der Glan, Austria, Puck learned cooking from his mother, who was a pastry chef. After training under renowned chefs in Europe, including Raymond Thuilier and Maxim's Paris, he relocated to the United States in 1973. Puck gained recognition and success when he became the chef and part-owner of Ma Maison restaurant in Los Angeles. In 1982, he opened Spago on the Sunset Strip, which further solidified his reputation. Puck has authored several cookbooks, including his first cookbook, Modern French Cooking for the American Kitchen, published in 1981. With a career spanning decades, Wolfgang Puck is a prominent figure in the culinary world.
