Wolfman Jack

Wolfman Jack, born Robert Weston Smith on January 21, 1938, was an American disc jockey known for his gravelly voice. He enjoyed a successful career spanning over three decades. Growing up in Brooklyn, New York, Smith developed a passion for R&B music and the disc jockeys who played it. He credited his unique voice for his success, often saying that a couple of shots of whiskey helped maintain his raspy sound. Smith's parents divorced when he was young, and to keep him out of trouble, his father bought him a large Trans-Oceanic radio.
