Yasmine Akram Biography
Yasmine Akram is an Irish-Pakistani actress, writer, and comedian. Born on March 11, 1981, in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, she moved to Drogheda, Ireland, at a young age with her family. Akram collaborated with the Calipo Theatre and the Picture Company from the age of 14 and later graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She has written comedy sketches for the BBC and Channel 4, as well as hosted for BBC Radio. Akram is best known for her role as Janine Hawkins in the third series of Sherlock. She also wrote and performed her first play, 10 Dates with Mad Mary, which was later adapted into the film A Date for Mad Mary in 2016.
