Yolande Bavan Biography
Yolande Bavan is a Sri Lankan singer and actress, born on June 1, 1942. She gained recognition as a performer with Graeme Bell's band, touring Australia and Asia early in her career. Bavan is best known for her role in the jazz vocal group Lambert, Hendricks & Ross, where she replaced Annie Ross in 1962. She recorded three live albums with the group under the name Lambert, Hendricks & Bavan. Bavan also collaborated with Peter Ivers on the album 'Knight of the Blue Communion' in 1969. Additionally, she provided vocals for Weather Report's album 'I Sing the Body Electric' in 1972. Bavan has appeared in various musicals, including 'Salvation' (1969), 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' (1969), and 'Bernarda Alba' (2006) by Michael John LaChiusa.
