Yolonda Ross is an American actress, writer, and director. Born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, Ross began her acting career in New York, appearing in episodes of television series such as New York Undercover and Third Watch. She gained recognition for her leading role in the independent drama film Stranger Inside (2001), which earned her a nomination for an Independent Spirit Award for Best Debut Performance. Ross went on to have supporting roles in various independent productions and guest-starred on shows like Law & Order and Law & Order: Criminal Intent. In 2011, she had a recurring role on HBO's Treme. Ross received critical acclaim for her performance in the 2013 film Go for Sisters, earning her an Independent Spirit Award nomination.
