Yvonne Orji

Yvonne Anuli Orji is a Nigerian-American actress and comedian known for her role in the television series 'Insecure' (2016–2021). Born on December 2, 1983, in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, Orji grew up in Laurel, Maryland. She attended Linden Hall, an all-girls boarding school in Lititz, Pennsylvania, during her high school years. Orji holds a Bachelor of Arts in liberal arts and a master's degree in public health from George Washington University. Despite her parents' expectations for her to pursue a career in medicine, law, pharmacy, or engineering, Orji discovered her passion for comedy while performing stand-up during her graduate studies. She has been nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award and three NAACP Image Awards for her work on 'Insecure.'
