Zac Posen

Zachary E. Posen, born on October 24, 1980, is an American fashion designer. He was raised in New York City, in the SoHo neighborhood, as part of a Jewish family. Posen's parents are Susan, a corporate lawyer, and Stephen Arnold Posen, an artist. With family roots in Belarus and Poland, Posen developed an interest in fashion design at a young age. He attended Saint Ann's School in Brooklyn and interned with Nicole Miller during his sophomore year. Posen also won a Scholastic Art and Writing Award as a teenager. At age 16, he joined the pre-college program at Parsons The New School for Design, eventually graduating from Saint Ann's in 1999. Posen spent three years being mentored by Richard Martin at The Costume Institute of The Metropolitan Museum of Art before being accepted into the womenswear degree program at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London.
