Zainab Johnson

Zainab Johnson is an American comedian and actress, born on March 22, 1992, in Harlem, New York. She gained recognition as a semi-finalist on NBC's Last Comic Standing and is currently a series regular on Amazon's Upload. Johnson, who comes from a devout Muslim family, holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics and initially aspired to become a teacher. After moving to Los Angeles, she started working as a production assistant for comedy shows, which sparked her interest in comedy. Her career took off when she appeared on season 8 of Last Comic Standing, where she advanced as a semi-finalist. Johnson has also appeared on the HBO special All Def Comedy and co-starred in the web series Avant-Guardians. She was named one of Variety's 10 Comics to Watch.
