Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman, known mononymously as Zendaya, is an American actress and singer. She was born on September 1, 1996, in Oakland, California. Zendaya began her career as a child model and backup dancer before making her television debut as Rocky Blue on the Disney Channel sitcom Shake It Up (2010–2013). She also starred in the Disney Channel sitcom K.C. Undercover (2015–2018). In 2017, she made her feature film debut in Spider-Man: Homecoming and reprised her role in its sequels. Zendaya gained critical acclaim for her portrayal of Rue Bennett in the HBO series Euphoria (2019–present), winning two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. She has received various accolades for her work and was named one of Time magazine's 100 most influential people in 2022.
