Movies Like Girls State

Girls State observes teenage participants in Missouri’s weeklong civics program as they organize political parties, campaign for office, and confront ideological differences. Through the experiences of several attendees, the documentary charts how young women negotiate leadership, partisanship, and civic responsibility while constructing a functioning mock government from scratch and institutions.
