Rock Star is a 2001 American musical comedy-drama film directed by Stephen Herek, starring Mark Wahlberg and Jennifer Aniston. The story follows Chris "Izzy" Cole, a tribute band singer who becomes the lead vocalist of his favorite band, Steel Dragon. Loosely based on the experiences of Judas Priest tribute band singer Tim 'Ripper' Owens, the film explores the journey of a devoted fan turned rock star.
